What we learnt in Science: Term 1 2019

This term has been cluttered, but I have tried my best to be a hardworking student. I finished my work most of the time and on the other hand I was talking or I was not on task. I learnt about things related to the earth which was interesting, like Earth Layers, Volcanoes and Earthquakes.

Personally you can think of the Earth as being made of different numerals, sort of like a apple, but a apple only has three layers, the skin represents the crust, the flesh represents the mantle and the core stays as the core. But so the four main layers of the earth are Crust, Mantle, Outer core and Inner core.

The Crust is the outer layer of the earth, which is 3-5 miles (8 kilometres) under the oceans (oceanic crust) and about 25 miles (32 kilometres) thick under the continents (continental crust). The Mantle is a layer in between the crust and the core, it is 2,900 kilometres (1,802 miles) thick, and makes up a whopping 84% of the earth's total volume. The Outer core is the only liquid layer, which is 2,200 km thick. The Inner core is right on the inside, which is as hot as the sun's surface but not as hot as the inside of the sun because there's pressure being put on it by the layers on top of it. This layer is 1,250 km thick.

In the earth there are 12 tectonic plates, but there are 7 major plates, called African, Antarctic, Eurasian plate, Indo-Australian plate, North American plate, Pacific plate, and South American plate. There are 3 different types of boundaries: Divergent, Convergent, Transform.

Divergent- Divergent boundary is when the plates move away from each other.
Convergent- This boundary is when the plates move towards each other.
Transform - This is when the plates slide past each other.

This is what I learnt in Science this term. THE END!!

HEALTHY CHOICES!

This is a film that is based on Healthy Choices.

Behind this film, Our coach April helps a boy named David, in need to learn how to eat healthily, learn what healthy choices are and learning how to keep fit! Our Coach April then challenges David to a basketball game. In a snap of time, David gets the idea of what it's like to be fit instead of being unhealthy and eating unhealthy. This teaches David to eat healthily and to keep fit.

This film is dedicated to last term's topic which was "HEALTHY CHOICES".

The Human Body

This term for our LCS (Learn, Create, Share.) Our inquiry topic for this term is Healthy Choices. We had to make a presentation about the human body and why it's important for us to rest. We had to pick between three different systems, either the digestive system, or the respiratory system, or the reproductive system. Plenty of us did the digestive system. But here is the presentation I made.

Typhoon Jebi in Japan

Yesterday we watched a video about the Typhoon Jebi in Japan. We had to write about what if we were in one of the scenes from the video. I picked the scene in the train station when the roof of the train station started collapsing. Here is the video and my writing.

Graphics

This year's Tech classes have being amazing and we are now in our final tech class which is Graphics. In graphics we create things, draw and other stuff relating to art and creativity. So here is what I created on the first day of Graphics.
